Boars should attack now; let me know if this is not the case.

Also /gimme should work so you can choose a first aid kit and get that guaranteed...or... you can choose to go for the grab-bag.

Don't know if I mentioned this before but pew segments were added so you can craft them.

So let's do this:

Added:

Can turn oven and wall oven into working ovens (now they work like campfires). All you need is a wrench (and only a wrench) to upgrade it with a car Battery.

Can turn fridge bottom (recipe changed) to a freezer which spawns ice, which can be used to make iced drinks. These cool you more than the red tea or yucca juice you are used to. All you need is a wrench (and only a wrench) to upgrade it with a car Battery.

Iced drinks added.

Oil barrels can now be converted to oil, or gasCans... your choice.

Iced drinks added. (They cool you off more than regular cooling drinks).

Oil barrels can now be converted to oil, or gasCans... your choice. for now. Looking to make them turn into oil  which can then be turned into gas if you want. This is a preliminary stage.

Blueberry juice was added so you have a use for that now. It is great for wellness as a substitute for vitamins perhaps? Think antioxidants.

All of the new drinks can be made without a campfire; if you see a hammer icon beside an old recipe (take goldenrod tea as an example) it means you use the  upgraded oven or upgraded wall oven. The campfire icon means the normal old way of using the campfire.

You can make scrap plastics using snowberries; it should be in your chemistry station.

Added obsidian weapons but obsidian is not in the game, same as copper. yet. This is just a preparatory stage.

Methane was added as a way to legitimize crafting working appliances such as the freezer as well as set the stage for a player idea involving mustard gas or something similar.

The ability to craft air conditioners; upgrade them with a wrench (and only a wrench) to upgrade it with a car Battery to make it working. You can then stand on it to cool off. You can upgrade any air conditioner you find also.

You can now make cotton seed oil from cotton seeds, and turn that into gasCans. So now you have the option to farm your own gas essentially  if you are a stay at home player who grows crops. This also a prelude to making oil barrels only convert to oil (which can be turned into gas, don't freak out).
So you will be able to turn oil and cotton seed oil into gas cans, but crude oil will not magically turn into gas cans when you find an oil barrel.

You will also see various recipes for forged lead, forged copper, etc. This is just preparatory as copper isn't in the game yet.

I doubled the chances to see solar related items in the traders. This was in response to complaints that they weren't available. As always, you need Secret stash 3 (and this may have been the "problem" from the start).

Removed:

Nothing.

Changed:

Some tools now require a workbench; it used to be just steel tools required one. It seems intuitive to need a workbench to attach an iron "head" to a tool much the same as it requires steels. Given the ease of access to a workbench (traders, player malsl... OR a vote point) this shouldn't impose any difficulty. Buy a workbench, make a tool.

Clubs work differently now.

  • Make a wood club, wrap barbed wire around it to make a barbed club.
    Make a wood club, wrap forged iron around it to make an iron reinforced club.
    Make an iron club and add nails to it to make a spiked club.

Recipe for the fridge bottom changed.

burn barrels should now give off a warming effect like camp fires and forges. So now if you're in dire straits you can saved if you find a trader or prefab that has one. Hypothermia sucks.

CBSM:(what has all the commands, and gives you vote points, city messages, zcoins, gimme, etc.)

zgates now have a 10 min timer if you are engaged in hostilities. This is to prevent anyone from using it simply to escape danger; be it PvP or zombies etc. If you get hit, run away and wait for the 10 minutes to expire. As it stands, it only has a timer if you are hit.

This doesn't affect anyone who is not engaged in hostilities and the timer is subject to change in either direction (may be changed to 15 minutes or 5, as an example; 10 is a good starting point and will likely never come into play).

/gimme now has a category..health. Type /gimme list and you can choose a first aid kit. /gimme is a grab-bag and you can get anything on the list which includes dun dun dun... a minibike.

Upcoming:


Gonna try and get bandits to work somehow.

Change toilets so you can get them to respawn loot. This means more turds to help with methane as well as your crops. Free pistols and murky water are bonus.

Gonna see if I can attach appliances to the power system they have.

Let me know if this stuff doesn't work. In all a lot was added to enhance game-play and give you more options to choose your path, customize how your bases look, and accommodate differing play-styles (such as farmers versus foragers).

All of this was done without requiring a new seed or even a restart.

No animals were harmed in the making of these changes.

Have your pets spayed and neutered.

I'm hoping focus is on what was added or changed for the better as opposed to choosing to look for negatives.

I dunno. They used to be aggressive, like bears. If you get close enough they should attack; they had made the boar into the old pigs.

I don't think boars would attack unless you attacked them first. At least that's how vanilla A16.1 and .2 handled them. Unless you had modded that once A16 came out.

Pigs were replaced by boars in A16 if that's what you meant. Pigs would run if you attacked them, boars (as far as I can remember) only ever attacked if you attacked them first.

The reason I'm curious was my Spanish mission/presidio was going to have a pig/boar farm. Madman was gonna come over and drop some chickens and boars into their pens.

Ah K, I will. Thanks.

Fun fact, pigs are boars and vice verse. An unneutered male pig can go from domesticated to feral (grow tusks, ridges, hair) in as little as one month's time.
