Can we get a "Time since last Seed" counter on the website?
« on: April 04, 2016, 11:33:05 pm »
Not sure what to name the counter, but it would be nice to know how long a Seed has been "active". That or maybe an in-game day counter. Basically I would like to know when a new Seed is/was implemented so I have an idea of the world state. If the Seed is only a week old I can assume that not everything within 500m of spawn has been "claimed", whereas if the Seed is 1+ months old then I can expect to need to run out fairly far from spawn to avoid other players, if I so desire. I hope that makes sense.

Sorry for any ambiguity that may have been present in my original post. I am looking for something that does not require logging into the game server to check, that is why I requested it for the website. Examples of the type of response I am looking for would be as follows:
Yes, we can and will
Yes, we can but won't
No, we can't
We already have that and you can view it at link to URL

There is a way to see without logging into the server, but you have to fire up the game.

Choose "Connect to Server" from the main menu and when the server list starts generating, go to the "search" bar above the server names and type in "Ground Zero" - when this server shows up highlight it, but do NOT hit "connect". On the right side it gives the server info, such as what day it is, what time it is, etc., etc.

That is the only way I know of right now to see the real-time current server stats without actually logging into the server.

what he said.. but to solve your issue, u jopin, as u would join, and u make the determination of how far u think u need to go out based on day count...

i can assure u even when we were at 800 days there were 90% unclaimed area around the "hub" city
Ammit (/ˈæmᵻt/; "devourer" or "soul-eater"; was a demon in ancient Egypt. Translated, it means "Devourer",  Ammit was the personification of divine retribution. The Demon who would wait beside the scales of Ma'at ready to devour the souls of those deemed unworthy.

My last response was apologetic to keep others feelings from being hurt. This time I shall be blunt.
I am not asking for suggestions on how to determine anything in-game. I am asking if we can get a counter on the website. If your response is anything other than how to enable this on the website then you are either not understanding my question or your response is off topic.

Something as simple as posting the file creation date of the current map file would suffice, but the question is: "Can we get this posted on the website?"
Perhaps we could get a locked thread with the date and time of each reset here on the forums? That would be great.

Locked thread. This request could've been sent to myself or Madman or both anyhow because the general public won't be able to do it on this site.

I'll ask Madman.

No need to be argumentative.

I will see what I can come up with. I don't see why I can't at the very least post a "Current seed started xx/xx/2016".

Yeah. I know. I was just saying if I can't then at the very least I can post it on the website whenever we change.
