Should armor be break-able?
« on: May 31, 2015, 11:42:18 pm »
I've been mulling this over. I really do not like the fact armor , amongst other things, cannot break. I do not want total realism, but armor, especially repairable armor, should be able to break if not maintained. Weapons, too.

I cannot promise I will not make this change regardless, and it should not be a change that affects many, as most repair their armor. Wearing near-broken armor gains you little protection.

However, please feel free to offer your opinions and thoughts on the matter. Keep it constructive, keep arguments out of this thread, and if you can be convincing please be so! I admit I take votes with explanations more seriously than anonymous votes. If a majority votes in favor of one versus the other, I consider that seriously as well. But a good argument for or against can sway me, if the logic and reasoning are sound.

Keep in mind this will happen sooner or later, modded or not. Madmole has offered much in the way of proving he is in favor of making the game more challenging versus making it easier.

armor like everything in MHO should have a breaking point if not properly maintained this is a fact of life and should be a fact in my online life as well. I think that is armor breaks it will boost trading among the players and that will help build an economy as well as build a stronger community

I always thought it could break. I just never let my armor/weapons ever get that low. It should absolutely be able to break tho, it takes damage and is repairable. If your not paying attention to the durability then you should have a chance for it to break.
