Yes it was good natured smack talk so long as you also got the message that randomly killing repeatedly "just for fun" isn't the name of the game on this server. I did put a lot of winkies and smilies in there - that's internet speak for "See I'm playing around ... mostly!" heh.

But in all seriousness - your post asked for people to join your no-holds-barred club which means you want people who have an understanding of completely KOS all the time, any where, any time. I'm not cool with that - that's 'war declaration' grounds and I'm not at war with anyone unless they pick the fight first which you've made clear you intend to do so I responded that if you do so with me then it's definitely not going to make friends.

Actually what I said was:

So I was wondering if anyone would be interested a "full contact club"?

This is for those of us who really are in for the no holds barred PvP.   Granted you have to operate with some discretion for those who are not participating in that much PvP.

IE for example I'm good with loosing my backpack...if you trail me and snipe me..well good for you!   Find my base?  Stealing my stuff...if I can do it to you, you can do it to me?  (Just wrecking someones stuff seems a bit ash hatery to myself, so you will never catch me doing it, but hey if I left it unlocked, well I guess it's yours!)

Anyone?

I never formed a club or asked for members, I proposed an idea.  No one was really actually that interested in it so likely this thread would be dead.   Also I never assumed that people would want to play as I do, hence the reason I asked where the other players where at.   Otherwise why would I create a thread asking that question?

If I pop someone off, I have a reason, which likely I'll share if asked.   As it is I generally assume that most of my fellow players on this servers are adults, so I don't have to warn anyone about their conduct ahead of time.

I have pretty good reading comprehension. I got the gist of your original post. I even read your replies! You stated:

"I don't honestly see the point in all the rules.    Just cause you play PvP it doesn't mean you have to be an jerk.  (spawn camping, hunting the same person down repeatedly, destroying a base just cause you can, etc.)

As it is right now, I fully expect the first time I decide decide to pop someone to see in text chat "Dude, why the F-uck did you do that?!? what the hell?!?!"   This is my attempt to circumvent that.  So instead of negotiating "set of terms of conflict" with each and every person, I have a list of players that are thinking the same way I am.   In a sense it is a negotiation ahead of time of terms.  Which is largely...no terms.   Instead I'd like to see in chat after I pop someone who is really playing PvP, "wow, didn't see that coming you got me good. xD"

It's that reply that prompted me to post a reply as well, letting you know that I'm not interested in your no-holds-barred club and my reasons why. That's it, that's all it was. Pretty simple. Yep, I smack talked a little saying that if you DO decide to start killing me for no good reason unprovoked, I'm going to make sure retaliation happens in one form or another. You said "Challenge Accepted" and so I take that to mean you're going to shoot at me when you see me so I again replied I'm not interested in your club.

The fact that I'm having to explain myself (again) might indicate comprehension problems on your part, not mine but I don't think that's the case. I think you're a more aggressive PvP type and you're looking for confrontations.  And that's fine.

The rules are there (even though you don't get the point of them as you said) to define things for everyone so that things aren't pushed into the **** range of PvP griefing. Without them, there's no guidelines for acceptable behavior. So while yes, you are free to 'pop someone' anywhere outside their base or the Central town, the rules are saying not to be a dick about it and to expect retaliation / war declarations for it.

I'm clear on that, and I'm pretty sure you're clear on it. And to clarify I'm not being pissy or confrontational (since text doesn't convey intent) I'm adding another winky.  ;)

I'm just the one willing to argue with you. I'm pretty sure most of the guys on our server feel the same way.

LOL - ok! I finally found crumpets at the organic grocery... never knew what one was. They are these weird half pancake, half english muffin looking things that are spongy and strangely chewy. Maybe real English homemade ones are different.

Aaanyways, yay for hopefully 24 hours til' RGW - woohoo!

Thank you Spider for the moment of Levity.  :)

True I prefer a more aggressive PvP environment, but I am quite capable of dialing it back to the server.   I can also see were you could take my comment that way as well.

Likewise I'm pretty sure I read just fine what you posted, but perhaps it is a different interpretation on what is PvP.   If the server is PvP, but of no PvP unless there is a predetermined war between individuals and groups than it really is just PvE.  After all that is the lack of confrontation, or risk of confrontation isn't it?  If you desire an environment were you feel free to run about scavenging, and that an attack is not within the spirit of the server (and I am not referring to repeated hunting, or  spawn camping or other over the top actions) is unjustified, than isn't that just PvE.?

I see this in much more of this light; if I am scavenging a building, or have been scavenging a building and I see someone move to or into the building that I have been working I might shoot them thus eliminating a threat to supplies or person.     Likewise I can see this happening as well to me if I stray close to someone's base without declaring myself, or if I run at them with gun out.
