R.I.P. Emergency Broadcast
« on: November 14, 2014, 06:56:53 pm »
R.I.P. headquarters has intercepted a transmission, requesting reinforcements. The transcript, broken as it is...follows.

Thi....is...goo..y....re.....ing....sistanc...........one............ere? We.........covered.............source.............not.........zero...................perimet......celtic.........small.................sert.
Be.........is...............an..............stop.................ope.
...........any..............ing..............ease..............tely..............elp..........ave....................nity.

This transmission was played in a loop, and we believe it is a request for help. R.I.P. has been investigating the area surrounding what has been dubbed "GroundZero" in an effort to unlock the secrets behind the H1Z1 outbreak. Our interpretation of this garbled transmission is perhaps the final piece of the puzzle, with other pieces having been accumulated  over the past weeks.

First it was believed Bobby "Mad dog" Pitchburn was a government agent engaged in a cover-up, having taken over portions of the city and disallowing access to all. Investigations to this area led us to following a shadowy figure eastward.

The presence of potatoes flourishing in the east was one clue, what was termed a raid was instead a classified operation designed to analyze those  potatoes. Carl "Mr. Potato head" Bojangles was cultivating an inordinate number of potatoes, and we needed information. Radiation alone does not account for the decrease in food supply, as they have a naturally-occurring high ratio of  chlorogenic acid, and potatoes—while indigenous to mountainous terrain, still did not grow there.

To test our theories we needed access to the laboratory of a chemist, and there existed only one who maintained such facilities in the remaining populace, so a raid on J. "Lucy" Madman's facility was in order. We used his equipment and then boarded up the location for the safety of everyone—the tests left traces of solanine everywhere.

The Old Farts clan had maintained a compound in the desert, and was working with R.I.P. when they expanded their operations northward as we observed weather and wind patterns, and studied desert life. Deserts are homes to the most resilient forms of life, and has the most biodiversity of any remaining biome since the epidemic. The plants especially could have clues as to the survival of the Homo sapiens sapiens subspecies.

This transmission leads up to believe they discovered the true source of the H1Z1 virus, and after recent R.I.P. responses we believe there is a solution.

Our problem is not survival as individual citizens, it is the continuing of our species which is the dilemna. R.I.P. believes the source of the H1Z1 virus is not "GroundZero", but instead a site south of it.

We believe the small city located south of "GroundZero" is the reason for the seemingly endless hordes of infected beings. In an effort to stem the plague and let us establish a very real foothold, R.I.P. is requesting the assistance of all survivors.

This eve, R.I.P. will be undergoing operations to destroy this city, and needs all the resources you can muster. A local command center will be established within the city limits, and then agents will proceed to undermine the structural integrity of the entire city. R.I.P. has declared a cease fire, and set up a drop box in the center of the city for the time being for any supplies you may have. Again, as much TNT as possible is needed.

Thank you for your cooperation.

That's mah town!  :'(

What leads RIP's ever so diligent and scientific studies to believe tiny town is the source of the scourge?  >:(

(ooc) I tried to quickly lay it out, but the main gist is its small enough  we could blow it up before the update. I intend on (if i have time and resources) to set up a base in the center which extends to bedrock, and then tunnel underneath the entire thing, and lace it with TNT every few blocks. Then back up, set it off and hopefully video a chain reaction of the entire city collapsing.

This would segue into a "new day" which would be the next world with the next update. In other words, it was our one last hope, the dist settles, and............it didn't work. Alpha 10 arrives, things are worse than ever, and all of our compounds were overrun. Now we need to start over, and hopefully unlock the mystery.

That was my thinking. People can try and stop me of course, but I doubt anyone has the resources I do. Any base someone makes I have the resources to get into and/or annihilate, so feel free. I just figured it would be a cool segue if we all banded resources together, blew that **** up, and added a storyline to it.

People could dig a trench around the city and throw in wood logs with barbed wire if they want to start helping, or a trench with ramps up and down that zombies can't jump....or make massive amounts of TNT and gas for me.

Whomever had that parking garage, for tearing down my wall, I have the land claims so... yeah.

Love the story explanation and if you do manage to get this to work, I'm going to have to log on and see the devastation before I call it a night. I've had tons of work to do and a crappy ongoing all day headache but we'll see ... post updates!
