Rise to the surface
« on: May 25, 2014, 08:39:43 am »
So I found myself rising to the surface in the middle of the night from my deep underground base... ??? apparently I stepped on one of these blocks that MadMan was talking about over Teamspeak.   And unfortunately right into the middle of a crowd of zombies....bad beat-down ending ensued.

Not really sure if there really is a fix to this

So be aware...  I believe the current thinking is that 7DTD believes you are stuck in a block and the stuck protection kicks in.   So the only way I can think of to keep this from happening is to make sure your mining area is spacious and try not to put your head in a block.

Yeah this happened to me 1st day it was quite humorous at the time.. I was like NO!! WTF stop.... hoping I was floating up like we use to float down... but alas it was not to be.

However..... it has come in handy as im at bedrock and wanted to get to the surface in a hurry... was running hit a block and elevator up. Wasnt on purpose but came in handy none the less.

Yep I have this strange underground behavior happening as well. I will say after numerous days of digging and building my bunker (ingame days that is) I can narrow it down to the areas of my hole I haven't leveled out and are at odd angles going down and not the smoothed tunnels or places I've put down flooring of any kind so it seems to be an issue with the chopped up bedrock or sandstone / dirt bits for me at least. I'm going to work on getting those areas fixed to eliminate that instant elevator effect.

Oh and I think this might be a quick fix they put in for the 'falling through the earth' syndrome that happened before - did anyone get that often? I did... if I hit a voxel wrong or stepped through a part of a wall with my camera angle wrong...boom... falling through infinite space watching the ground, trees, my base growing smaller and smaller above me. Eventually I had to un-equip everything off my belt and suicide to get out of that one.

I think the rising to the surface bug is better than the falling through the world bug.
